COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Students found a gun on a South Columbus High School bus this morning.
According to Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten, four students were riding the bus near Tabor City, when one student told the bus driver that a gun was on a seat.
Deputies interviewed the students and are still trying to figure out who the gun belongs to.
Sheriff Batten says the bus was parked overnight in an area known for drug activity. He thinks someone could have walked on the bus and left it there.
It is still under investigation
